Drama Moon Lovers : Scarlet Heart Ryeo Finally Revealed! This is the real ending

Latest Kdrama – On March 31, 2022, Lee Jun Ki guested on “MMTG” and was interviewed by JaeJae. On that occasion, he discussed the true ending of the hit drama Moon Lovers: Scarlet Heart Ryeo.

It is known, Moon Lovers: Scarlet Heart Ryeo is a drama that tells the story of a woman named Ko Ha Jin (played by IU) who accidentally returns to the past during the Goryeo Dynasty.

There, Ha Jin lives as a noble girl named Hae Soo who eventually falls in love with the king of Goryeo, namely Wang So.

This drama has a sad ending where Hae Soo (played by IU) returns to modern times after dying alone without ever seeing Wang Soo. In the present, she cries a lot after she sees Wang So’s painting in the museum that says, “Sorry for leaving you alone.”

Initially, Lee Jun Ki shared the good experience he had while starring in the drama.

Lee Jun Ki said, “I got good spirits (from the drama cast). Now, the little ones who ask for my autograph don’t know about my other projects. They only know I’m playing Moon Lovers: Scarlet Heart Ryeo.”

When JaeJae informed that fans wanted a second season, Lee Jun Ki commented, “I wish there was a second season too. We talk a lot about that.”

Lee Jun Ki then began to talk about the original ending of the drama Moon Lovers: Scarlet Heart Ryeo which had not yet been released. He revealed that he had filmed a happy scene when Hae Soo and Wang Soo reunited in modern times.

He explained, “We actually filmed the scene of Hae Soo reuniting with Wang Soo in the present. I remember I was wearing a suit while filming that scene.”

“The scene is like this: I approached her (IU) to give her a handkerchief. He would look at me who didn’t remember anything. Then, I will smile back,” said Lee Jun Ki.

Even though it was recorded, the scene was ultimately not released due to the director’s decision. Lee Jun Ki said, “I think the director put a lot of effort into thinking about an ending that will leave an impression on the viewers.”

“He’s been thinking about whether the drama should have a tragic ending or a beautiful and hopeful ending. I think the director knows that he will never be satisfied, no matter what ending he chooses.”

“Therefore, he chose the first idea that would make the audience cry. Honestly, I thought the original ending would be shown on a Blu-ray version, but it’s not,” said Lee Jun Ki.

For your information, Lee Jun Ki will star in the SBS drama entitled ‘Again My Life’. The plan, this drama will air every weekend starting on April 8, 2022.

IU And Lee Jun Ki Discuss The Original Ending Of Moon Lovers: Scarlet Heart Ryeo

Lee Jun Ki had a phone call with IU at a special Naver NOW event called ‘DREAM’. On that occasion, they talked a lot about friendship with each other.

Lee Jun Ki and IU also talked about Moon Lovers: Scarlet Heart Ryeo, which is the drama that the two of them got to know each other for the first time. The drama aired in the second half of 2016 ago and has 20 episodes.

Lee Jun Ki and IU talked about the actual ending of Moon Lovers: Scarlet Heart Ryeo which was not broadcast.

“Our actor Lee Ji Eun (IU) showed the most amazing emotional acting at that time. I wonder how someone can cry so pitifully. Even now, I still cry when I see your emotional acting in that scene,” said Lee Jun Ki.

IU complimented Lee Jun Ki back. “I’m really sad that we can’t show fans the scene where Wang So and Hae Soo meet again. Your appearance back then was also amazing.”

“In today’s scenes, when you have short hair and wear a suit, your appearance in the scene where you give the handkerchief, is really disappointing not being able to appear on TV. In fact, your fans will be excited if it is broadcast,” concluded IU.

Meanwhile, the ending of the drama Moon Lovers: Scarlet Heart Ryeo’ which aired only showed Wang So’s lonely moments after Hae Soo died. The beautiful woman returned to the present era and wept over the painting showing Wang So’s back.
