In this Korean drama from Disney+, Hong Ye-sul, played by Seo Ji Hye, works at an advertising company, she has the ability to see someone’s future if other people’s body parts touch her lips.

One night while setting up a location for a commercial shoot, Hong trips over a wire that accidentally knocks him into Cha and they both fall onto the bed their ad was designed to sell.

Their lips accidentally touch and the unthinkable happens, Hong sees her locked in a hot embrace with Cha as they fall into another bed in the future, in her apartment.

Despite arriving late, Cha’s reassuring words save the day. He hasn’t told any clients yet; instead he was just projecting confidence. The problem is that Cha is not Don Draper and the world of advertising presented in “Kiss Sixth Sense” is far from Mad Men.

The oddly-named Zeu-Ad company carries out a tedious campaign of an unkempt building, lots of cobwebs and some fragile properties, a light and airy interior that belies its dark and neglected exterior.

Inside the confusing house, there are Hong’s annoying friends. They do serve clients but only based on catalogs and cannot interpret what potential buyers want. Of course it makes potential buyers are not interested.

His friends’ abilities are in contrast to Hong who has a prime and cool appearance, but “Kiss Sixth Sense” is not the kind of show that emphasizes logic or consistency so that it is understandable when there is a similar scenario.

The thing that stands out from Korean dramas is the main players, especially this drama is a romantic comedy drama. Unfortunately, Seo is less than optimal in expression, not much different from Hong. His role as a police officer in last year’s neo-noir action thriller seemed more fitting.

Seo Ji Hye and Kim Ji Suk said that this was their first time playing a fantasy genre and unique characters. The character of the role played makes them challenged because they have to understand how to become that character.

“Ye Sool’s character is very different from the characters I played before. Ye Sool had a ‘friendly’ and ‘down to earth’ character. He also has a unique thing because he can see the future,” said Seo Ji Hye.

Meanwhile, Kim Ji Suk admits that the drama he plays has its own uniqueness and interesting storyline. He claimed to remember his first love in the real world.

“This Korean drama is quite unique because it shows a future scene, so we as players must follow how the story gets to that future scene. Besides that, I also have to act like a young person who is in love. This reminds me of my first love,” said Kim Ji Suk.

Disney’s decision to enter the Korean market is not a smooth one, there are several challenges that make Disney have to work harder. Disney entered the Korean scene with a carefully crafted and painstaking anticipation. One of them is by attracting big stars and paying for expensive shows.

Not only that, Disney has a large production line and currently shows an average of one or two shows a month.

Disney showed its ambition for the Korean market with its first series released there, namely Snowdrop. Not all Korean dramas produced by Disney live up to expectations, such as Rookie Cops and Grid, instead, they seem boring and have a bad first impression.

Meanwhile, “Kiss Sixth Sense” showed more successful sales. The light-fantasy-romantic concept plays out against the backdrop of an acceptable workplace, with the exciting prospect of gradually evolving from antagonistic to romantic.
