IU Makes Birthday Celebration by Donating to Social Foundation

Kpop News – Popular K-pop solo singer Lee Ji-Eun, or often called IU, just celebrated her 29th birthday on May 16, 2022 yesterday. This talented young singer surprised his fans after he made a different way to celebrate his birthday this year.

IU became a conversation because she did a unique thing on her birthday this time. Recently, Ji Eun was called to continue the heartwarming tradition of sharing the massive donations given on birthdays. Reporting from the Soompi page (17/5/22), on May 16, IU’s agency EDAM Entertainment shared the happy news that the actress had donated 210 million won (approximately US$163516) equivalent to Rp2.3 billion to a number of social organizations.

Some of these organizations are The Snail of Love foundation, Korean Association of Unmarried Mother Families, Eden I Ville, and several other social welfare foundations in the Changinwon area.

IU Donates in Her Name and IUAENA’s Fandom Name

A representative from EDAM Entertainment said, “Lee Ji Eun this time spent a very meaningful birthday sending love to those in need of warm support along with her many fans celebrating her birthday.”

The donation is planned to be used to fund surgery and care for youth with hearing disabilities, support multiple single mother/father households, and support youth centers. IU has made an annual donation on behalf of her joint fandom “IUAENA,”.

EDAM Entertainment also shared a donation receipt from Ji Eun with a message that said “Birthdays do come every year, but this time we want to spread the warmth this year too with UAENA. We hope this May can be a comfortable month for everyone to move forward in the warm spring sun. Of course, to our UAENA fans who celebrate with happy hearts more than anyone, we thank you very much!” wrote the agency.

As is known at this time, IU is preparing for the premiere of her film “Broker” which is scheduled to air June 8, 2022. She was also invited to the 75th Cannes International Film Festival, and Ji Eun expressed that she really hopes to attend the event.
