Due to Appearing at Coachella, Epik High’s Tablo Was Dragged in Controversy with BLACKPINK Fans

Kpop World – An (unnamed) BLACKPINK fan recently attacked one of the senior South Korean boyband personnel, Tablo Epik High. This is known when the screenshot of the fan’s message was spread on various social media.

The fan contacted Epik High’s Tablo via Instagram. He admitted that he did not accept it when there were claims that Epik High was the first line-up at Coachella.

This BLACKPINK fan action dragged Tablo’s name into controversy. Not a few of them gave full support to Tablo. On the other hand, BLACKPINK’s diehard fans attacked Tablo’s Instagram account fiercely.

One of the accounts on Twitter @yoongissnipers revealed the fact that Epik High’s Tablo account was attacked by haters who were allegedly BLACKPINK fanatics.

“Comments on Tablo’s Instagram. And they (BLACKPINK fans) are still talking about their child. Army, whoever you are, could you take a minute to post a purple heart (emoji) in the comments?” write the account @yoongissnipers on Twitter Friday (22/4/2022).

“Please also send a purple heart to DJ Tukutz on Insta post, he’s having a bad time too,” he continued.

This fan action was carried out to stop the war from BLINKs (BLACKPINK fans) on Epik High member accounts. Especially when there are fans who also drag Tablo’s daughter, Haru.

Neither Epik High nor BLACKPINK, the two of them disagreed. Epik High himself was a BLACKPINK senior when he was still under YG Entertainment. Although Epik High has terminated its contract relationship with YG since 2018.

Epik High is also very well known among international fans. Several times they have toured abroad, including in America.

Epik High himself performed at Coachella in 2016. He became the first group to step onto the Coachella stage, long before BLACKPINK.

As for BLACKPINK, they performed at Coachella in 2021. They are the first female kpop group to appear at the annual major music festival.

Epik High’s Tablo Performs at Coachella

Previously, Epik High was expected to perform at the 2022 Coachella event. However, Epik High is currently trying to complete its tour in America for some time.

This was conveyed by the frontman, Tablo Epik High. Through his Instagram account @blobyblo, he often uploads their tour concert activities in America.

As for Epik High, they were invited to the Coachella 2022 stage on April 15 and 22, 2022. They will perform in front of an audience that will be broadcast live in California, United States.

Epik High previously performed at Coachella 2016. This marked their title as the first kpop group to perform at Coachella. In fact, this year they received three concert requests from Coachella.

This request is arguably fantastic. Because at their first concert in 2016 at Coachella, Epik High was able to give their best performance. It was proven that they could perform well in front of a crowd of around 200 thousand people.

In 2020, Epik High was again invited to perform at Coachella. However, due to the pandemic, the concert was cancelled. This year they got their third invitation to appear as performers rather than featuring.

Controversy for Tablo

BLACKPINK fan action is enough to mark the war between fans (fan war). This sparked hatred among fans. At the same time dragging the names of Epik High’s Tablo and other Epik High members into trouble.

Initially, it started with Tablo’s upload on Twitter which featured informational news about their appearance at Coachella. The news contains, “Epik High Makes History The First Korean Group To Be Invited Back To Coachella” on April 22, 2022.

But long before Rolling Stones had preached the news with the title, Epik High React to Historic Coachella Announcement: ‘Dream Came True’ on January 13, 2022.

The upload sparked anger for BLACKPINK fans. In fact, one fan expressed his displeasure at Epik High’s Tablo. They considered that Tablo was degrading BLACKPINK as a group that had performed at Coachella 2021.

“You will never be on the same level as BLACKPINK and it will be a shame if you don’t change that. You’ll only be known for humiliating yourself for seeing the dead crowd watching you at Coachella.” wrote the fan via Tablo’s Instagram direct message (22/4/2022).

The fan felt disapproved and judged Tablo to have humiliated BLACKPINK. He also considered that Tablo had humiliated himself.

“BLACKPINK’s fancam has more views than your music video so just worry about that. Or a better idea, why don’t you just focus on your children and stop meddling in women’s affairs.” continued the viral fan earlier.

Casually and strikingly, Epik High’s Tablo only expressed his reaction, “Oh Wow…”

Fans from other fandoms or Epik High fans themselves actually admire Tablo’s attitude. Even though the fan looked down on Epik High’s Tablo and brought his son, Haru, Tablo didn’t care.
