Info Drakor – The Korean drama series, Arthdal Chronicles, is currently being talked about. Because the series that aired on Netflix it is rumored to be continuing its broadcast after almost 3 years of stopping the filming process.
Arthdal Chronicles itself is a fantasy and historical genre drama that tells the past tragedy of the struggle for the Arthdal kingdom.
The Arthdal Chronicles series aired in 2019 with a very large production cost. A total of 54 billion won or 600 billion rupiah was disbursed for the purposes of producing this series.
However, this drama was not entirely lucky. The reason is because it raises a unique theme and high fantasythe rating of this series is also not as expected.
Even so, Arthdal Chronicles is still memorable in the hearts of its fans. Ending with the episode hanging, the idea to continue Season 1 emerged. Even though filming didn’t go on even though due to the shock of the Covid-19 pandemic.
Now approaching 3 years of production, the discourse on Arthdal Chronicles Season 2 has re-emerged. Studio Dragon, which is the main production house, admitted that they are preparing for the continuation of this series. Although rumors of a major player substitution re-emerged.
Arthdal Chronicles Reportedly Changed Main Player
The discourse of major substitutions among fans is hotly discussed. Launching from soompi, Studio Dragon is allegedly eyeing the names of Lee Joon Gi and Shin Se Kyung to replace the previous main players.
Lee Joon Gi is known to replace Song Joong Ki’s role as Eun Som and Shin Se Kyung replaces Tan Ya, which previously starred Kim Ji Won.
Meanwhile, there has been no confirmation regarding the substitution of other players. Including vital characters, such as Ta Gon, previously played by senior actor Jang Dong Gun and Tae Al-Ha, played by Kim Ok Bin.
No Answer yet
Although the news of the substitution of Arthdal Chronicles players is going on widely, Lee Joon Gi and Shin Se Kyung have not given a definite answer. What is clear is that Studio Dragon has negotiated with the agencies of the two players.
Both agencies are known to have not provided a definite answer to the artist’s involvement in Arthdal Chronicles Season 2.
Namoo Actors, Lee Joon Gi’s agency, through its spokesman admitted that he was preparing for this project. “Arthdal Chronicles Season 2 is a project that he (Lee Joon Gi) is reviewing,” said Namoo Actor, launching from Soompi 4/21/2022.
Meanwhile, Shin Se Kyung stated, “He (Shin Se Kyung) received an offer to star in season two and he is currently reviewing it. There is no confirmation whether he will appear or not.”
The two agencies admitted that their respective artists had not been able to accept their appearance in the second season of Arthdal Chronicles. Even though they both claimed to be reviewing Studio Dragon’s proposal.
Changing Timeline
Arthdal Chronicles season one ended in episode 18 with a hanging episode. Ta Gon ends up becoming king, while Eun Som travels to the Ago tribe and has not been able to meet Tan Ya. Even though Eun Som dreams of meeting Tan Ya several times.
The second season of Arthdal Chronicles describes the changes in the Arth Kingdom over the span of a decade. The substitution is suspected to have been done on purpose, due to a change in the plot.
Predictably, this second season will reveal changes in the Kingdom of Arth in the future. So that Eun Som and Tan Ya will be shown more maturely.
Filmmakers Involved
There is no absolute certainty over the change in filmmakers. However, the director of season 1, Kim Won Suk, is known to no longer be involved in the continuation of season 2 of Arthdal Chronicles. The exact cause is unknown, but from the start Kim Won Suk did not want to join.
Kim Kwang Sik, director of the film The Great Beattle (2018), is confirmed to play a role in this second season. He will replace Kim Won Suk as director and do serial work.
Meanwhile, the scriptwriting duo, Park Sang Yeon and Kim Young Hyun will return for the second season. They will be involved in working on the script for this latest season.

“The second season of Arthdal Chronicles is being prepared with a target to start shooting this year. Players, showtimes and platforms that will broadcast it have not been confirmed yet.” said a source from this studio, launching from Soompi Thursday (21/4/2022).
Studio Dragon is known to be in the middle of producing the second season in February 2022, and they have stepped on the gas again to work on the film. Even though they don’t know when the time is right they start filming.
Arthdal Chronicles is targeted to finish production this year. While next year is the year the drama series will be aired.
